Euskal Herria

The Basque Country (Euskal Herria) will always have a special place in my heart. I grew up surrounded by bucolic green hills and rolling waves and quickly developed an interest and deep connection with the environment. I grew up telling myself that I would never leave, but I soon realized the benefits of traveling abroad and expanding my horizon. Although I no longer live in Europe, I cherish the memories of growing up there. I typically visit my friends and family in the Basque Country at least once a year and thoroughly enjoy revising my favorite places. Most importantly, I savor Basque cuisine as it is just too good to be deprived from it for too long!

Living in California made me realize how special the Basque Country truly is. Its lush greenery resulting from the mild climate with constant rain and sunshine made for wonderful days all year long.
